What to expect after the operation – Transconjunctival
- Eyelid correction surgery patients should not drive or use machinery for at least 24 hours until they have regained sensation, mobility, and coordination.
- In the first week, it is common to have difficulty closing one’s eyes.
- Watery eyes are frequent and usually remain for a few weeks.
- The black eye makes it appear that the eye bag has not been fixed; this is normal, and visible improvement can take up to a week to appear.
- You will have to put drops into your eyes four times every day.
- You can wear eye masks, but do not over-ice your eyes; this might create further problems.
- You may have some bleeding from the internal wound, making it appear as though the white of the eye is bleeding. Don’t worry, this is normal. Apply light pressure to the lower eyelid with a gauze.
- Activities that increase blood flow in your face (such as leaning over, straining, lifting, or having a hot bath) may increase your chances of bleeding during the first week. Avoid these.
- Sleep with additional pillows to keep your head elevated and be careful with your eyes for at least another month. You can gently wipe your eyes with damp gauze.
- After one or two weeks, you will be allowed to engage in light physical activity. Depending on your occupation, you may need to take a week off work following the procedure.
- After one week following Eyelid surgery Dubai you should be able to drive.
Seeing the results
- Blepharoplasty before and after Dubai changes may not look even at first; your eye skin may appear overly tight and puffy, with one side appearing ‘nicer’ than the other; this asymmetry is normal and typically resolves within the first week.
Emergencies to look out for
Lower eyelid correction Dubai patients should look out for major bleeding after surgery, while extremely unusual (and not seen in our practice), because it can cause edema, color changes, and discomfort, generally on one side. If the bleeding occurs inside the eye socket, it might result in headaches and impaired vision. If this occurs, contact Dr. Lyor Hanan, one of the Best blepharoplasty surgeons Dubai, immediately. Chemosis is a more common occurrence that may necessitate treatment; the corner of the eye develops a yellow/jelly-like swelling, which we may provide extra drops to manage.
Book Blepharoplasty consultation Dubai with Dr. Lyor Hanan to discuss your eyelid concerns, recovery expectations, and suitable treatment options in a professional clinical setting.
