Skin aging is a natural process that inevitably accompanies the sagging of soft tissues in the face and the development of wrinkles. These changes are accentuated by other factors such as smoking, UV exposure, pollution, or poor diet.
Over time, facial fat redistributes and mainly settles in the cheeks and chin, giving a “puffy” appearance to the face. A small incision is made beneath the chin, hidden within a natural skin fold. Through this discreet opening, Dr. Lyor Hanan tightens the platysma muscles, removes deep fat, and, when necessary, reduces the salivary glands or Bichat fat pads.
For a combined face and neck lift, an incision is made around the earlobe. Dr. Lyor Hanan repositions the deeper facial tissues, tightens sagging cheeks, jowls, and neck structures, and redrapes the skin naturally using the deep plane facelift technique.
For patients who do not wish to undergo a facelift, Dr. Lyor Hanan performs a direct neck lift through a Z-shaped incision beneath the chin. This technique removes excess neck skin while preserving the natural appearance of the face.
Cervicofacial rhytidectomy not only removes excess skin but also reshapes the facial contours by properly repositioning the soft tissues (facial fat, facial muscles…). The patient can thus regain a younger face less marked by time. The results of this intervention last 10 to 15 years.
