What to Know About Eyelid Surgery Dubai Recovery
7-Day Eyelid Lifting Procedure Dubai Recovery Day by Day
Each patient is different, but here is a day-by-day summary of my post-op journey:
Day 0 (procedure day)
At 11:00 am, my friend drives me home, where I lie down and occasionally nod off to get rid of the remaining anesthesia. I’m sufficiently hungry by 2:00 pm to have a little meal and take my prescription pain reliever and antibiotic as directed in order to manage the pain. Although I don’t need it, I was also given Zofran to help with nausea. For the remainder of the day, my forehead feels numb. I have no bruises yet, and my face looks fantastic. Just two neat rows of stitches along my forehead, and two smaller ones across the eyelids after my upper eyelid surgery Dubai. I was surprised there were no dressings – somehow I expected bandages.
Day 1
I didn’t sleep well the first night, but it wasn’t because I was in pain. It was mostly because I didn’t like sleeping on my back with my head up as was recommended. I see that I have bruises under my eyes when I wake up, but thankfully there isn’t any swelling. Since applying ice is permitted after 24 hours, I began doing so at 20-minute intervals, which helped. Around noon, I take one more painkiller, but after that, I don’t feel like I need any more. To alleviate dry eyes, I also use saline eye drops. The sensation has returned to my forehead, and although it is not painful, it seems like my eyebrows are stuck there. I adore the raised eyebrow arch that I can already see.
Day 2
After a restful night’s sleep, I look in the mirror and feel rejuvenated. With the exception of the bruises beneath my eyes, everything appears rather normal, but it does look a little rough, like Rocky after seven rounds of boxing. I can open and close my eyes without difficulty, they are no longer red or puffy, and the dryness and irritation from yesterday have nearly completely disappeared. When I try to elevate my eyebrows, my forehead still feels constricted. I can now wash my face gently without scrubbing, and I wipe the stitches along my eyes to get rid of any dried blood. To prevent it from drying out, I make sure to constantly reapply the ointment that Diane gave me (the Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm by Alastin, however the Biocorneum Advanced Scar Treatment by Sientra also works well and has an SPF 30 sunscreen).
Day 3
I feel completely normal, and my eyes feel fantastic. There is now a space between my eyes and the bruises since the bruising has moved a little lower on my face. Sometimes I get a tingling sensation in my brain, like water dripping on it. It must be because the scalp is no longer numb.
Day 4
I’m still feeling fantastic. Smaller but still present bruises that are gradually changing color. I’m not very bothered by the bruises because I essentially didn’t have any swelling on any of the days. I don’t have any issues when I wear sunglasses outside. Just be careful to wear a helmet and/or apply sunscreen on your scars if you do go outside. This is something you should do for at least six months, if not a year. As long as zinc oxide is present, the SPF strength is less significant.
Day 5
At least the bruising is progressing through the tail-end since by this point the bruises have gotten a little smaller and the rings around my eyes have turned this horrible mustard color.
Day 6
I’m going to Dr. Lyor Hanan Clinic in the morning to have my stitches taken out. It takes about fifteen minutes. The doctor is pleased with the appearance of everything. My eyelids’ outer borders have already had some stitches removed on their own. Since side sleeping is presumably what irritates them, I believe I could have made a more concerted effort to sleep on my back. However, Dr. Lyor Hanan says there won’t be any issues. In any case, the scars will eventually disappear and mix in with my eyelid. With the stitches removed, the scars along the forehead are already much less obvious. This concludes my first week of recuperation; after that, I have nothing new to share. With each passing day, the bruises lessened until they were gone by day 17. I believe my bruising took longer to go away than it would have for other individuals since I bruise easily. However, after a week or so, it was sufficiently subtle to be concealed with a little makeup.
Is Eyelid Correction Surgery With Brow Lift Worth It?
If I had to sum up my experience with eyelid surgery in Dubai in one sentence, I would say that I was taken aback by how simple it was. Years passed while I considered the concept, read up on it, and gave it some more thought before deciding. The actual treatment only took a few hours, during which I was mostly sleepy and groggy for a few hours before I felt more or less normal and was perfectly capable of returning to my everyday routine. Of course, until your bruises have healed, you won’t want to resume any activities outside the house. This can take five to fourteen days. To ensure that you don’t have to deal with any awkward circumstances, I would advise you to plan at least one week of leisure with nothing major on your calendar. But by day three, running errands or going to the grocery store was quite manageable with a little foundation, sunglasses, and maybe a hat. For me, the treatment was well worth it because of the fantastic outcomes.
Results Vary by Patient
Once more, each patient is unique and will recover in a different way. I don’t smoke, have a BMI of 20, am in quite excellent health, and have never had surgery. I don’t take any prescription medications either. Put another way, I’m the type of patient that surgeons enjoy seeing, thus my recuperation will be quite simple and standard. Based on your unique risk factors, your recovery may be comparable or take longer. One piece of advice for you: make sure to arrange an appointment with their aesthetician Diane well in advance of your treatment if you choose to have an eyelid lift Dubai, a brow lift, or even a face or neck lift done at Dr. Lyor Hanan Clinic. She will make sure you have all the appropriate ointments to aid in healing and is an expert in skincare and scar treatments. This includes using the Alastin skin nectar to prepare your skin prior to the surgery. When you follow the right skincare routine, you’ll be astonished at how wonderful your skin feels and how quickly your scars go away. You’ll also be thrilled to see your eyes’ new shape every day when you glance in the mirror!
