  • Significant breast ptosis (sagging)
  • The patient already has breast implants
  • Damaged breast tissue
  • An ongoing pregnancy and/or breastfeeding (or within the last six months)
  • Certain medications that may interfere with blood clotting: be sure to share all your medical and surgical history with your surgeon

THE PROCESS OF BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH THE MIA PROCEDURE:

An initial consultation with your surgeon and a mammogram are essential before the procedure.

The Mia procedure is performed in the operating room under local anesthesia assisted with IV sedation (a perfusion in order to relax). The entire process, including anesthesia and implant placement, takes approximately 15 minutes.
Immediately after the procedure, you will return to your room to rest. You can then go home after one hour . Some patients resume their usual activities the same day, maximum after 2-3 days.

Wearing a compression bra is necessary for the three weeks following the procedure.
The implants inserted during a Mia procedure have a lifespan similar to those used in traditional breast augmentation.
